The Perfect Galley Style Kitchen

The Perfect Galley Style Kitchen

A galley kitchen doesn’t have to be long and lean – you can enjoy the galley effect in your home without having to compromise on space if you have the right team behind you.

That is exactly what Yasmin Mohamad was looking for, and with the help of the My Beautiful Kitchen team her kitchen space was transformed into a warm and wide galley style kitchen leading to double doors which offer a beautiful garden view.

The large space available meant that darker colours could come into play without the worry that the kitchen would appear gloomy.

A warm Broadoak Natural kitchen was chosen, with 14 mm Boss bars adding to the sleek and contemporary look. Stunning black Starlight Quartz worktops really adding to the depth of the kitchen surface.

The My Beautiful Kitchen designers were on hand to help with the design and the recommended installation teams took care of everything else, including removing the old kitchen and waste to installing the new one and carrying out all plumbing, electrical, lighting, gas and plastering work, including stripping wallpaper, painting and decorating.

Some heavy structural work needed to be carried out by the recommended installation teams before they could start, including the fitting of a suspended ceiling complete with a skylight to brighten up the entire room.

As well as this, the team installed a vent outside the extractor, installed a tower pull-out mechanism for easy storage and painted Ms Mohamad’s stunning range cooker in a deep glossy green to complement the new units and worktop surfaces.

Plenty of new fixtures were also added to the kitchen to update its style, such as the Blanco Silagranit 500-U and 400-U under mount sinks in shimmering anthracite, placed side by side to maximise the space needed for food preparation and washing.

A Blanco Menu rinse tap was also added which can be swung easily between both sinks.

The beautiful new kitchen is lit up by modern triangle lighting in brushed stainless steel for the under lights. These clever low voltage white lights allow for a powerful white light at a fraction of the energy used by incandescent bulbs. As well as this, modern recessed white light down-lights in brushed stainless steel serve as the perfect task lights for the new suspended ceiling.

Finally, Pergo light grey slate was chosen for the floor to complement the deep warm and bright colours of the kitchen. Overall, Ms Mohamad was delighted with her brand new kitchen which still managed to retain some of its original rustic features such as the range stove while being completely remodeled and updated.
