Refresh your Kitchen

Refresh Your Kitchen

Do you wish you could overhaul your whole kitchen and make it fresh and new again? Well, with a few nifty tips and tricks you can do just that, without it costing you a fortune.

There’s nothing we love more than designing a brand new kitchen into a home. But here at My Beautiful Kitchen, we know that funds don’t always make that possible. That’s why we’ve decided to let you guys into a secret.

There are plenty of ways in which a few small changes here and there can help you see your kitchen in a whole new light, without breaking the bank…

Inject some colour

You’ll be surprised at the difference that a fresh new shade can make. Stop your kitchen looking dull and drab by enlivening the walls in a bright new wash. Even contrasting shades of light and dark work particularly well if you want to draw focus to one part of the room in particular.

Consider painting just one wall in a vibrant hue and leave the rest neutral for a multi-dimensional focus, like the red feature wall in the picture.

If a new paint job is out of the question, there are lots of other ways to bring new colour and life into the kitchen. Replace kitchen blinds with brighter colours and add some colourful accent lighting in a corner to spice things up.

Even colourful tea towels and brightly coloured appliances such as a red microwave or blue kettle can make a huge difference to the ambience in your kitchen.

Unusual items

It’s all too easy in a world of flat-pack convenience for everyone’s kitchens to look the same. To make yours more individual without the price tag, consider adding some unusual or vintage items to your kitchen to make it more personal and interesting.

Items such as a vintage clock for the kitchen wall or storage bottles made from recycled glass add something different to an otherwise uniform room.

You could also look at more interesting ways of storing items, such as hanging an old rake on the wall and using it to hold wine glasses, or suspending pots and pans from the ceiling to save on space and to add some style.

Make old items new again

You may hate your kitchen sink or cabinets, but it’s easy to make such items feel like new again with some minor adjustments.

A drab kitchen sink can be brought back to life easily with a new tap, making it seem like a completely different sink. The same is true for dull kitchen cabinets. Their look can be changed completely with some beautiful new kitchen handles that won’t cost mega money, such as our selection at My Beautiful Kitchen.

You can also bring new life to old kitchen cabinets by repainting them in new colours to add extra colour and warmth where needed.

Whatever you decide to do, you don’t have to look at your kitchen in despair, waiting for a windfall to set things right again. With a small amount of money and some time and effort, you can transform your kitchen quickly and effectively.
